WE’RE BACK! Did you know that, officially, 18% of those 16-24 are unemployed? And, if you include other official stats in that measure, what we call “corrected” unemployment, that number rises to almost 25%. There’s got to be a different way! And that’s why we’re bringing back CareerCamp in November at Everyday Joe’s Coffee House in Fort Collins. Click here to register for free. Not sold yet? Want to attend a FREE conference led by your peers, rather than some high-and-might experts? Want to have real control over what you’re learning, what’s offered, and when? Have something to teach others? Want some help networking or coming up with ideas on your resumes, cover letters, interview skills, and job search abilities? Want an alternative to the 9-5 office job? You’ll find all of it and more at CareerCamp. See you there!
“Senior Economist Scott Anderson and Economist Ed Kashmarek reported Tuesday that while employment growth in Colorado has rebounded from its trough of -5.7 percent year-over-year in August 2009 to -0.5 percent in November 2010, it still lags the national 0.6 percent increase. Even though year-over-year growth has improved, the state has still lost 27,900 jobs since the end of the national recession in June 2009.”
Economic reports are showing no job growth in September. Which tells me that it’s probably a good time to do another CareerCamp in Fort Collins.
When and where would you like to see the next CareerCamp Fort Collins?
CareerCamp on Monday, June 21 has been postponed!
We inadvertently planned Camp on top of the NoCoNet Job Fair, which put a lot of people in a conundrum! So, rather than make people choose - we’re postponing CareerCamp for a bit.
There may be mini-events or updates along the way, so be sure to check the site for details.
We love it when people blog about their LaidOffCamp/CareerCamp experiences! It’s a definite treat for us. Thank you Anne for sharing!
A look at the schedule board from LaidOffCamp 6! Great topics that YOU can be a part of at the next CareerCamp!
Community at Work is a weekly radio program on KRFC, 88.9 FM, that provides insight into issues that affect Fort Collins communities by providing a closer look at the public agencies serving you.

If you’ve been listening to the radio in Northern Colorado, you probably heard Lucinda mention something about CareerCamp.
CareerCamp is a twist on LaidOffCamp.
Where LaidOffCamp is mostly to support people going from Careers to being Unemployed, CareerCamp is mostly to support people going from being Unemployed to Careers.
We’re integrating the best parts of both LaidOffCamp and CareerCamp to make sure everyone in attendance gets what they need!
