Serendipity
Despite attending the same university, with the same major, with the same favorite professors, Nick and Kevin met for the first time at Ignite Fort Collins #1. Both Kevin and Nick were working on bringing LaidOffCamp to Fort Collins (with completely separate efforts) at the same time before finally realizing it about 2 weeks before LaidOffCamp Fort Collins #1.
The second LaidOffCamp Fort Collins went off without a hitch. Bill Tucker led a session on reaching your maximum potential!
LaidOffCamp Fort Collins #4 was the second-largest LaidOffCamp with around 180 participants. #LOCFC

LaidOffCamp Fort Collins #5 was a total success - we took lots of pictures and learned a lot over the course of the day. Here are some of the highlights!

LaidOffCamp felt intimate — there were great core conversations happening, whether in the conference rooms or even in the hallway. I felt like there was an environment of trust — a lot of people shared vulnerable experiences & thoughts about their job search process.
I loved the session on freelancers — we bounced great ideas around and a lot of us seemed to have resources/ideas to share with each other. I was actually kind of (pleasantly) surprised by some of the awesome connections made between people during and after that session.

If you’ve been listening to the radio in Northern Colorado, you probably heard Lucinda mention something about CareerCamp.
CareerCamp is a twist on LaidOffCamp.
Where LaidOffCamp is mostly to support people going from Careers to being Unemployed, CareerCamp is mostly to support people going from being Unemployed to Careers.
We’re integrating the best parts of both LaidOffCamp and CareerCamp to make sure everyone in attendance gets what they need!
